Smarter Cities Challenge Providence, RI

IBM started its corporate service corps about 5 years ago and has expanded it to include 24 cities in 2011-2012. About 1,200 IBM'ers will have served on various projects in select cities to help them tackle challenges that are facing their city and community.

Knowledge gained from every city can be shared globally to build a smarter community of cities.

Cities are growing globally putting pressure on resources, jobs, economic and workforce development.

It is IBM's goal to make cities smarter to meet this challenge.
